University of Petroleum & Energy Studies (UPES) is the first ever domain specific and duly recognized institution by University Grant Commission (UGC). It is also the first Asian University with energy programs accredited by the Energy Institute (EI) of UK. The University currently has 4400 plus students. It has placed 2800 plus students in over 320 well known national and international organizations. UPES is an institution aspiring for a Leadership Role in the area of education, training, research, consultancy and outreach services in Oil & Gas, Power &Energy, Port & Shipping, Automotive Design, Aviation, Infrastructure, International Business & Logistics and Supply chain segment . One of its many USPs is participation of concerned Industry seniors in its Board of Governors, Academic Council and Faculty. Guest Lectures by Industry Experts as well as visiting International specialist are a regular feature. The campus is located in sylvan 27 acres at the Himalayan foothills near Dehradun. In its endeavor to design, develop and deliver education and training programs, UPES has 250+ regular Senior Faculty Members teaching 37 Programs. The UPES mission is to emerge as the leader in imparting world-class education by providing infrastructure at par with any international centre. The University is equipped with technical labs, a well stocked library and an advanced Wi-Fi computer lab, apart from other infrastructure like sports & recreation activities and modern lecture halls. It is also the first University in India to implement SAP\\\'s higher education and research software. The university has also been acclaimed by various national & International bodies and has received awards and recognitions like ISO 9001:2000 Certifications (2006) & ISO 9000:2008 Certifications (2009), Bar Council of India accreditation for Law Programs (2007). It has also been accredited by National Assessment & Accreditation Council (2009).UPES is also member of IAU i.e. International Association of Universities (2009) and AIU i.e. Association of Indian Universities (2009).
